Why Choose Turkish Stone
Turkey is a major global natural-stone exporter. Post-Brexit, UK importers declare under the UK Global Tariff and construction-product rules—import is workable for trade buyers when documentation, Incoterms, and certificates are clear. See our travertine and import guides for process context.
Turkish marble and travertine often compete with Italian and other European options on aesthetics and project fit when the selection’s certificates match the brief. Whether you save money is decided by a current CIF (or DDP) quote to your UK port or site—variety, finish, thickness, volume, freight, and currency—not a fixed percentage vs “Italian marble.” Request a project quote for London residential, Manchester commercial, or other UK destinations.
From Classic Travertine to Muğla White Marble and other commercial selections, Turkey supplies a wide range of marbles and travertines. Explore our full stone collection—beige, white, grey, and silver tones commonly specified on UK residential and commercial schemes. Final suitability follows samples and lot certificates, not colour name alone.
We supply technical documentation for the selected variety and product form: modular tiles (BS EN 12057), slabs for floors/stairs (BS EN 12058), and external cladding (EN 1469) where applicable, plus frost-related tests (e.g. EN 12370 / EN 12371) when the exposure requires them. Shipments can include test certificates, datasheets, and Declarations of Performance as agreed on the order. UK building regulations and Building Safety pathways are project- and system-level—coordinate with the specifier, installer, and building-control body; stone certificates support the package, they do not replace it.
We ship regularly to Felixstowe, Southampton, London Gateway, Liverpool, and Tilbury. Our logistics team handles container loading, maritime insurance, customs documentation, and delivery coordination with UK freight forwarders.
Our team speaks fluent English, ensuring clear communication throughout your project. From initial quotation to post-delivery support, we provide seamless service tailored to UK business practices and construction timelines.
Stone is cut to agreed project dimensions—standard formats (e.g. 600×600 mm tiles), large-format slabs, or bespoke architectural sizes. Dimensional tolerances follow the applicable product standard for the goods (e.g. BS EN 12057 / 12058 / EN 1469) and the order specification—not an open-ended “precision” promise.
Logistics
We deliver directly to all major UK ports via Mediterranean and Atlantic shipping routes. Our import guide covers the complete process from factory to your project site.
| UK Port | Transit Time | Container Cost (approx.) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Felixstowe | Indicative ~2–3 weeks sea (route-dependent)—confirm on booking | Quote-based freight (spot rates change) | Major UK container hub for imports |
| Southampton | Indicative ~2–3 weeks sea—confirm on booking | Quote-based freight (spot rates change) | Major south coast port, excellent motorway links |
| London Gateway | Indicative ~2–3 weeks sea—confirm on booking | Quote-based freight (spot rates change) | Modern deep-water port, ideal for London and South East |
| Liverpool | Indicative ~2–3+ weeks sea—confirm on booking | Quote-based freight (spot rates change) | Serves the North West, Midlands, and North Wales |
| Tilbury | Indicative ~2–3 weeks sea—confirm on booking | Quote-based freight (spot rates change) | Thames port with good access to London and Essex |
All transit days and freight figures are non-binding order-of-magnitude only and change with carrier, season, and fuel. Payload (tonnes / m²) depends on thickness and packing. They are not offers. Request a written CIF quote for your port and volume.

Under the UK Global Tariff (UKGT), many processed natural-stone lines (commonly discussed under HS Chapter 68, e.g. worked monumental/building stone) are listed at 0% third-country duty—but the binding rate is the commodity code on the entry, preference eligibility, and the date of import. Buyer confirms with HMRC or a UK customs broker before relying on any rate. Standard-rated import VAT (currently 20% for most goods) is usually charged on the import value and may be reclaimable by VAT-registered businesses under normal rules—confirm with your accountant. Any cost advantage vs other origins is quote- and tariff-specific, not a guaranteed category win.

Standards & Compliance
Stones exported for UK projects are specified against the relevant product standards for their use (tiles, slabs, cladding). We provide documentation agreed on the order (certificates, datasheets, DoP where required). Building-regulations compliance remains the project package (design, installation, system evidence)—not a blanket statement on the stone name alone.
Modular tiles and floor/stair slabs are specified against British-adopted European product standards BS EN 12057 (modular tiles) and BS EN 12058 (slabs). External cladding uses EN 1469 where that product form applies. Properties such as dimensions, water absorption, and flexural strength are declared from lab tests on the selection. Frost suitability for UK exterior exposure is not automatic: request freeze–thaw / absorption evidence where relevant (e.g. EN 12371, related absorption methods such as EN 12370 / EN 13755, or project-required methods). Use certificates for the exact variety and finish, not stone-type assumptions.
Construction products placed on the UK market follow current UK government rules on CE and/or UKCA marking and accompanying Declaration of Performance (DoP)—requirements and acceptance windows have changed over time. We supply the conformity documentation agreed for the product and order (CE and/or UKCA pathway as applicable on the ship date). Do not treat this page as legal advice; importers and distributors should check the latest GOV.UK construction-product marking guidance and their notified-body / AVCP obligations for the product family.
Check the live UK Integrated Online Tariff / UKGT for the exact commodity code and processing state of your goods. Many worked natural-stone lines are often 0% third-country duty, but only the tariff tool + entry declaration bind. Preference claims (if any) need correct origin documentation. Trade arrangements between the UK and Türkiye facilitate commercial flows when paperwork is correct—they do not replace HS classification or a broker’s entry. Always confirm duty, VAT, and Incoterms on the current quote and import.
Natural stone is a low-process mineral product with long service potential when detailed and maintained correctly—service life is selection-, exposure-, and maintenance-dependent, not a fixed 100-year warranty for every project. Environmental performance of a façade or floor also depends on transport, thickness, and the full build-up. Thermal mass can support energy strategies when the whole envelope is designed for it; do not claim automatic energy savings. Quarry and factory environmental credentials should be requested per supply chain (permits, management systems)—not asserted as industry-wide “strict regulations.”
Design Trends
Natural stone is experiencing a renaissance in British architecture and interior design, driven by sustainability, biophilic design principles, and a return to authentic materials.
UK architects are increasingly incorporating natural materials to create healthier, more connected spaces. Turkish travertine and marble bring organic textures, warm earth tones, and a tactile quality that synthetic materials cannot replicate. This trend spans residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.
Natural Materials for Biophilic Schemes
Turkish travertine can visually reference warm British limestones (e.g. Bath stone / Cotswold character) while offering commercial slab/tile formats and export logistics suited to project timelines. Colour and texture consistency are bed- and selection-dependent—approve samples and lot photos. Often specified on renovation schemes that blend heritage context with contemporary detailing when certificates and finish suit the exposure.
Bath Stone Alternative
Turkish marble is frequently considered for entrance halls, bathrooms, and selected worktop schemes in high-end UK residential when the variety, finish, and maintenance plan fit the brief. Kitchen worktops in marble need an honest acid-etch / sealing conversation with the designer. Value vs other origins is settled on samples + landed quote, not a universal “developer’s only choice.”

Your Partner
We are not just a supplier; we are your Turkey-to-UK stone partner. Our team combines deep quarry knowledge with British market expertise to ensure your project succeeds.
Two decades of exporting Turkish natural stone to Europe. We understand UK construction timelines, quality expectations, and regulatory requirements. Our track record of deliveries to UK and European projects—references available to trade buyers on request.
We work directly with quarries in Denizli, Afyon, Burdur, and Muğla. Direct quarry relationships support competitive pricing and production control when volumes and lead times are agreed in the quote.
We inspect slabs and tiles before loading against the order specification—dimensions, colour range, finish, and visible defects per agreed QC criteria. Natural stone is a natural product: accept tolerances and selection ranges documented on the order. Non-conforming pieces are held or rejected per QC protocol—not a zero-defect warranty of nature.
